The internet is slow….

Some of you may know of my internet problems. After all I’ve not just mentioned it once, but twice before. Well, it’s not as simple as it seemed to be.The reason my internet was so slow was because our connection was capped as we had exceeded the monthly peak time download allowance which is 20GB. Fair enough, in that time our internet was slow during peak time. That should’ve ended 20.11., that’s right, three weeks ago.

Well, since then it’s been getting worse almost daily with my internet cutting out every 2 hours and my upload/download is just ridiculous. Have a look at this:

speedtest-2.JPG

And we are meant to be on an 8 Meg connection….

So there have been several support tickets sent to our ISP, we’ve had suspicions that it may be our exchange and so on. Well, nothing is certain, but our ISP is sending out and engineer at some point soon. So maybe it will be fixed soon.

Also means that I can barely play Xbl which is even more annoying, as I just bought Rainbow Six Vegas last week and I really want to play it over Xbl. :(

Well, let’s hope it’s all sorted before christmas. It better be.

I think I’ve got 8KBps Up and 3 KBps down speed although in reality I don’t even get that much. I’d be in paradise if I was given your current speed. :D

Guess all ISP’s are the same. :)

Oh, I suppose it always can get worse….

How long does it take you to load wordpress then? It’s even slow when my connection is fast.

Gee Cat those stats are aweful. It makes me think something’s fishy with that ISP.8 meg LAN can’t be THAT slow. What average time does it take you to open your blog on WordPress?

Well, again I think that it may be the exchange, but we will find out once the engineer turns up some time next week.

I don’t know how long it takes, I always have around 10 tabs open in Firefox and msn convos, so I don’t know. I hate to wait for things which is why I’m always multitasking! :P

Wow same here.I don’t think I’ve ever let just one tab in Firefox load. There’s always something else happening.

I just hope the engineer manages to fix your connection, otherwise he’d be Cat bait :D

Oh, he will be. Infact I’m considering of not letting him leave until it’s fixed. In case I’d have to go to court, I’m sure I could defend myself with temporary insanity. ;)

May the engineer’s soul Rest In Peace.Obviously after he’s fixed your connection.

Well ish, actually EVERYBODY at home wants broadband. There’s just the tiny weeny problem that there’s no ISP supplying Broadband here. [for dial-up we’ve only got 2] I gues since its a remote sort of area. But earlier even in the city I didn’t get broadband since I lived out of the ISP’s “territory.”

  37. Matt says:

Just a guess Cat, but I think he put that “]” there by accident.. try taking it out.

Ashish: My friend’s got the same problem, he’s got satellite internet which is not only sucky, but also $70 a month. It doesn’t even support XBOX Live or any gaming system..

I mean, you’d think by now, with how they’re starting free wi-fi, they’d at least be able to have wired everywhere.. it seems like they’re half-skipping a step.

Car: I seem to have put an extra ], the correct link is http://www.dabido65.com/wordpress :)

Matt: Well I can say I’ve got cheap unlimited internet. 11Rs. Per day seems cheap to me. The other ISP gives 1 paise per KB of speed. with the same speed. I’d pay $70 a month if I get Broadband. 7 years is a horrible time. :) Well, about skipping we haven’t even got 3G yet here and they’re speaking about 4G. It’s all an illusion….

Ish: Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. Currently in a small town in the mountains. Have lived in Mumbai as well where territory wars left me without broadband. I think unless I conquer the world I won’t get broadband! :P See, thats how “evil” ambitions are born…… :D
